Think of the news over the past many years. Remember all the people who have been killed or injured just going about their daily lives. How many of those people could have survived if they were carrying a firearm and had the training on how to use it? Our first steps pistol course is the beginning of your journey to proficiency with pistol shooting. The course begins with a comprehensive safety briefing detailing all class, range, and firearms safety rules. Our goal is for every student to leave the course feeling confident in their new skills and know exactly how their pistol works, how to manipulate and grip the pistol, proper stance, proper loading and unloading techniques, draw/align sights on target, shoot with accuracy, and identify and clear malfunctions. Our course sizes are intentionally kept small in order to maintain our training standards and to ensure each student gets one-on-one instruction. The end of the course is wrapped up with shooting a steel target at 50 feet as well as an intro for Intermediate Pistol. Students will use every skill learned during the course to accurately engage the steel target. After your purchase you will be emailed the course details. This will include the address for the range, date and time and other important info. We will also send you some videos to prepare you for the course. It is imperative that you read the email and follow the instructions or you may not be allowed to participate if the rules are not followed. Our Top Tier IFAK is available for purchase at a discount when bundled with our courses.

This course is designed for pistols with iron sights not red dots. If you have a red dot mounted on your pistol, please have co witnessing iron sights. You'll be asked to turn the red dot off at the range. We must learn how to use any stock pistol and most of them still only have iron sights.
Pistol case/ Bag. We require all firearms arrive to and leave the range in a case/ bag
We recommend you bring two pistols in case one breaks down on you. Not everyone will be able to do this but we recommend it if you can.
Electronic Hearing protection. Electronic hearing protection allows the user to hear normally while load noises are automatically muffled. We recommend Howard Leight, Razor, Pro Ears.
Eye Protection. Something rated ANSI Z87+ high impact.
Closed toe shoes or boots
Ladies; Low cut tops/ shirts are not advised. Hot brass always finds it's way in there.
Hat ex Snapback, Trucker hat etc.
At least 3 good quality magazines. 4-5 is best but not required. Factory magazines are best.
250-400 rounds of ammunition.
Good quality outside the waistband holster. No Blackhawk holsters or thigh rig holsters/ no exceptions. We recommend TREX Arms, Safariland, TR Holsters, G-Code holsters and Dara Holsters. If you have a holster that sits below your waistline we strongly suggest you get a thigh strap to prevent the holster from hanging up when drawing. TREX Arms sells them at an affordable price.
Good quality gun belt. We recommend Blue force Gear, Haley Strategic and TREX Arms. We recommend a "war belt" set up to easily don/ doff your gear. You can also use a sturdy belt for your pants and a quality slide on or paddle style outside the waistband holster + magazine carriers.
2 Good quality magazine carriers. We recommend Esstac Kywis, G Code soft shell scorpions, High Speed Gear (HSGI) Pistol Tacos.
Cleaning Kit. Bore snake, nylon bristle brush, cleaner, lubricant, q tips, paper towels.
Pocket notebook and pen.
