About Us

Our Beginning

We are a couple, originally from Southern California, where we have been personally affected by wildfires, floods and earthquakes because of our geography, as well as civil unrest across the country, and a worldwide pandemic. 

Throughout 2020, as we prepared for whatever disaster might affect us next, we realized that most people we know are not prepared. As cities burned for one reason or another around the country, it became clear that most people were not as prepared as they should be. In what became the “autonomous zone” in Portland, residents had no access to government-provided first responders - no police, fire, or medical response. 

This really made us think. 

What would happen to everyday people if this were on a larger scale - if our power grids went down because of a natural disaster or, worse, a foreign attack on the United States? In the early months of the pandemic, we had been researching and sourcing our own products to build emergency kits for months, because we simply could not afford what was currently available on the market. When we saw what was happening across the country and around the world, the proverbial light bulb came on, and we realized we had already done the research to build affordable kits for ourselves and our loved ones, so why not for other people? Thus, our company, United Survival, was born. 

 United Survival is based on our values of honesty and integrity, and making a living but not a killing, doing something we believe in and feel good about, we humbly offer our products and services to you, sourced and assembled by our own hands, with the same care we put into the kits we keep in our own home and vehicles. We could sell only name-brand items in trendy bags that cost a fortune, but if it isn’t affordable for most people, it doesn’t benefit them. Our mission is to make preparedness affordable and accessible to everyone.

We build and test our kits at great length before putting them on the market to ensure that you, the customer, are getting something that works and does not come with inherent problems. We use these exact products in our survival training courses. We chose our products based on real world applications, not what’s tacti-cool among Instagram LARPers. There is no place for gimmicks or cheap items that don’t work in our kits. We offer only high quality, tested products that have a real-world application.

Who We Are

We are active people who love the outdoors. We enjoy camping, horseback riding, ATVs, hiking, and rugged activities. We have grown up doing these activities, so we have a long history of being prepared for whatever may arise. With our lifestyle comes risk of injury, mechanical failure, being stranded, etc. We never leave home without our EDC and a plan. Our EDC and IFAK go everywhere with us. Individually, we are both known as the “parents” in our groups of friends, the planners and problem-solvers. That’s just who we are and have always been. Because of our personal nature and our lifestyle, we have literally grown up as preparedness advocates. 

We are both instructors as well - Travis a firearms/ survival instructor and Jamie both a firearms instructor as well as a horseback riding instructor. In both industries, we incorporate preparedness and critical thinking into our training. We have a passion for preparedness. We know that not everyone has the time or patience to research and build personal kits like we did, so we are happy to do it for you. We have put in hundreds of hours, researching, building and testing our kits because the quality matters to us. Honesty and integrity are very important to us.
